A little known Gem…

Internet Explorer and Firefox are the most common browsers with around 90% of the internet population using them. Internet Explorer comes bundled with the Windows Operating System and the Firefox owes its popularity to its fastness, vast customisation options with add-ons and above all its Open Source nature.

But apart from these two there is another gem of a browser, Opera. Its a light weight browser and faster than both Firefox & IE. The best part of it doesn’t need as much memory as IE or Firefox. Opera can run quite well even on a Pentium 3 with 128 MB RAM. So you can browse fast on almost any system.

• Opera was one of the first browsers to feature Tabbed Browsing.

• Small Download [5 mb], Installs without any glitches & Browses fastly.

• Has a built-in Download Manager & Notes Application.

• You can change its appearance with hundreds of Skins. You need not even restart the browser to apply the skins.

• Like skins there are also thousands of widgets which run along with the browser. There are lots of Widgets like Calender, Beautiful clocks, Reminders, Games and anything you can imagine.

• Opera is available as a free download for Windows, Macintosh & Linux.

• Supports Mouse Gestures. Imagine having to just down the mouse and move it to navigate back & forward, refresh.

• If you can remember a word from a page you’ve read earlier, you can find that page easily with Quick Find. Just enter a word in the address bar to find matching text from any page you have visited.

So the next time you frustrated with Internet Explorer remember there’s Opera.
